I’ll tell you all about plumbing training centres soon, I promise, but first I would like to explain all about plumbers to you and why plumbing is such a good career move for you.
Ok so if you didn’t already know plumbers really do have it good and one of the main reasons for this is that plumbers are always in high demand and that’s not just here in the UK I’m talking about all across the world. No matter where you’re living in the world plumbers are always required and there are no two ways about it, someone somewhere always needs a plumber for a wide variety of tasks.
Plumbers are in short supply this is one of the main reasons that their wages are so high the demand for them is so huge yet there aren’t enough of them to go around. Happy days if you want to become a plumber!
Plumbers don’t just work in domestic situations they also work on business premises and also building sites, so their work is always varied but above all never, ever boring.
Job security and peace of mind are other bonuses when you become fully qualified as a plumber, just think you’ll never have to worry about work again, plumbers are always needed you will have a guaranteed job for life!
How do I get started on my training
Yes! I knew once I told you how good plumbers have it you’d want to get trained up so let’s discuss training.
Training to become a plumber here in the UK is fairly straightforward there are training centres dotted all over the UK so there is certain to be one close to you. These training centres are purpose built to train you up to the highest of standards in order for you to become “fully qualified” they will guide you every step of your training journey.
Full time and part time courses are available depending on your own personal circumstances and family commitments. You can give whatever time you have available to complete your course there is absolutely no rush, you go at your own speed and in your own time. If you do go for the full time courses then this can be completed in 4 to 8 weeks but like I said if you cannot commit like that you can take months or even years to complete your course.
You don’t need any qualifications to begin your training the course is available to all who just want to succeed in their quest to become a plumber. So whether you’re looking for a change of career or maybe you’re just out of school it really doesn’t matter, so long as you have the determination t get o and succeed in your goals.
Training centres will get you right up there to the highest of standards that is required with City & Guilds. Everything you could possibly need to know to begin your new life as a plumber is there in the course.
So how much do plumbing courses cost?
Ok so let me begin by saying that plumbing courses are fairly expensive and can cost anywhere between £4,000 and £6,000. Now I know you’re probably thinking Crikey I can’t afford that but please remember that this is your future you’re investing in and the salary you’ll be earning as a plumber will blast these figures out of existence. Plumbers earn fantastic money and this is what you must keep in your mind. Remember plumbers when qualified can earn £35,000 a year keep this thought going as you carry out your training.
What’s an NVQ
Throughout this article you may have seen me mention “fully qualified” now this is where an NVQ comes into play. An NVQ will be the very last requirement before you are known as “fully qualified”
What happens is when you begin work as a plumber either for yourself or for someone else an NVQ advisor will visit you at your place of work and will mark you as you carry out your tasks. If they are happy with your work you will gain your NVQ and will be known as “fully qualified”
So that’s about it really as you can see becoming a plumber is a great career move and you’ll be on the road to earning big money. Now all that’s left to say is good luck and enjoy your training!
